Valentines Day at the Double Wide
With my arms around you
And my face nestled in your shoulder
I feel it all wash over
These two souls curled up together
Dreams and dreamers intertwined
I never thought it could be like this
To rest my heart against one like yours
I just want to sink in deeper
Let go and fall inside
Lose myself in your kindness
Hide within your love
Dreams and dreamers intertwined
These two souls curled up together
I feel it all wash over
With my face nestled in your shoulder
And my arms around you
I never thought it could be like this
To rest my heart against one like yours
I just want to sink in deeper
Let go and fall inside
Lose myself in your kindness
Hide within your love
I never thought it could be like this
§
I love your shallows
I love your deeps
And everything in-between
I Lay Beside You
I lay beside you, holding your hand in that twilight of touch before sleep
That slippery sleep
Beneath my hand I feel the rise and fall of your breathing
And I change my breathing to match yours
Inhaling and exhaling with you
Adrift in our sea
Rising and falling together
We are a wave, moving across the night
Finding our way to secret shores
If I felt your heartbeat, could I match mine to yours?
And beat as one heart?
One breath, one heart
In this way, I want to dream
With you, as one
Floating on into the endless tide
Forget the Moon
Forget the moon
For though it’s trusty, it’s tiresome
It’s rusty and wearisome
Nightly repeating its toneless tune
Give me the stars
With their shimmering mysteries
Their glimmering reveries
Flooding my heart with dreams from afar

The world is built on beautiful things
“We should become the time-zombies…”
[…] the temporal reality of nonhuman life is limited almost entirely to the present. In the worlds of the most advanced species there are slight extensions of that press to the immediate future and past. Chimps, for instance, can play hide-and-seek. But even for apes, time is always “banana now.” It is never “banana for my grandchildren yet to be born” or “banana last month.” […]
Members of our species were able to conceive and create the great cultural continuities of humankind – the arts, letters, and sciences – because the mind’s reality embraced the immensity of time from the distant pasts to distant futures […]
If in our individual and collective behavior we were to let our mental present deteriorate to a “banana-now” present – which is as close to the nanosecond world as we can get in practical terms – then we should lose the very capacity that built human civilizations. We should become the time-zombies of a banana-now republic.
Could this happen?
Yes, it could.

Insert the Thing that caused it –
Block it up
With Other – and ’twill yawn the more
